End Hiatus.

Fear not! for I am still alive and well!
I just went on an uninspired, unannounced hiatus.
Tutorials are on their way, although i've rethunk some of the ones I promised in 'Coming Soon...'.
I HAVE been working on a few little projects here and there. No tuts, but if you want them I can whip something up.
Here are 2 of my incomplete bits 'n' bobs.
(sorry about the picture quality. No excuse- I just fail today lol)

This photo provides no justice. I just got a new laptop so i'm still transferring files and whatnot. We'll just work with this photo, shall we?

About 3 weeks ago I decided I was in dire need of a piggy bank, so I hit up ebay.. only to be disappointed with the lack of variety AND the painful prices.
Next stop was the mall.
Same story.
So I came up with these!
They're super fun to make and they're as personal, as 'you' as you want them to be.
(not to mention the recycling factor. Snaps for the environment lol)

You Will Need:

♥ Scissors
♥ Clean Jar/s with the label removed and the lid in tact
♥ Craft glue (or any other glue that isn't in the form of a 'stick')
♥ Paint brush (optional)
♥ Old (or new, if you can afford it)Magazines
♥ Craft / Specialty Scalpel (optional, see last step)

How To:

001. Go through your magazine/s, cutting or ripping out the pages and pictures you'd like to use. (Don't worry if you don't end up using all of them; I didn't either.)

002. Once you're happy with the pictures you've selected, cut them into shape. As you're cutting or ripping you might decide that you no longer like what you have and go through the magazine/s again until you do. That's totally cool. You want it to be as 'you' as it can be.
note:
If you're using a pattern base like I did it doesn't matter how neat the cutting and/or ripping is. Just try to keep the mess to a minimum. Cleaning up sucks =)

003. Get glueing!! Have patience. Paper doesn't take well to clean, smooth glass.
If you like, you can also cover the lid to match. It's a little more difficult to get the paper to stay but, again, have patience.
note:
This is where I used my paintbrush. I found it easier to 'paint' the bits of paper with the glue first.

004. Let the glue dry. Sometimes it dries as you move around the jar so by the time you're done, it's done!

005. Trim any excess paper from the top and bottom. You may have bits still sticking out, depending on how close you cut. Simply glue these pieces down, holding them in place for a few seconds as they dry.

*OPTIONAL-- Scalpal Method*
If you have the right sort of scalpal you can mark out a slot in the lid and cut it out. Super glue the lid on.

You're done!

Easy Stretch Skirt. (no sew)

I made this fun little number a good few months ago but I haven't had a chance to post it.

YOU WILL NEED
♥ Stretchy, Heavy material. (I found some remnants at Spotlight. I suppose you could use non-stretch material, but you'd have to do some adjustments to the waist and hem)
♥ Scissors

HOW TO

001) Lay out your material on a flat surface, making sure to brush out the creases. (I used the floor. Space is an issue in my shoe box)

002) Because your material will more than likely be a rectangle shape, you'll need to fold and cut it so you're left with a square.
(This bit helps if you're good with basic origami)

003) Now fold your square into 2 triangles, being careful to fold it the right way

004) Making sure you have the point where all the material is connected (top point), Make a small cut.

005) open it up, slip it on and you're done!

Blue Glitter Lips

Okay, Hi.
I guess this is my first 'blog'. I'll try to keep it interesting.
My first tutorial!!

You will need:
♥ Two tones of glitter in the same colour. (i'm using dark and light blue)

♥ Eyeshadow similar to your lighter shade of glitter

♥ Eyeliner (or lip liner, if it's the right colour)

♥ Lip Gloss (clear)

♥ Sticky tape

♥ Cotton Bud (Q-tip)

001. Line your lips with the liner.

002. Fill in your lips with the eyeshadow, making sure not to go outside of the liner.(at this point you could mark the in with the liner, where you're going to put the glitter. Totally up to you.)

003. Coat your lips with the lip gloss. It doesn't matter if the eyeshadow kind of rubs off.

004. Smear a little bit of gloss onto your cotton bud (this makes it easy to pick up the glitter)and dip into the LIGHTER shade. Dab it onto the middle of your lower lip and the two 'points' of your top lip. Repeat the dip-dab process until you're happy with the coverage on your lips.

005. Turn the bud upside down and coat the other end with gloss. Dip-dab the rest of your lips with the DARKER shade, avoiding the middle light bits.

006. Use your sticky tape to remove any stray bits of glitter on your face. You can also use it to fix the shape of your lips. (glitter often distorts your natural lip-line)

Now smile pretty! You're done!!
At this point you could add a coat of gloss if you like. (see the difference in my pictures above).
Just be careful not to use a brush-on gloss. Bonne Bell sell the perfect little dome-shaped glosses.
